Hi friends Its been brought up on a different message board that the Intermountain FT is too high over the rails. What seems high is Intermountain's fuel tank is not low enough between the trucks giving the model the effect its too high. In the two photo's below you will see a nose to nose view of the Kato F7 and IM FT along with a photo showing the fuel tank lowered to the correct location. I believe this should put to rest the height question.
