If starting over, what track would you use?

    Are prototype turn outs on lines with concrete ties still wooden ties under the turnout?

    Yes, Clark. IIRC Trains mag said it was because the wood handled the stresses of the turnout better than concrete.

    I'm not saying that no one does concrete switch ties, that's a sure way to get corrected, but I am 95% sure the US practice is wood switch ties.
