    Hi all.

I have a Westside Models B&O mikado that I spent no small amount of time painting, installing DCC, Kadees, and so on, and even adding a headlight. The model had some red staining on the brass when I got it - I am guessing from the red foam in the box, even though the model was wrapped in plastic too. Where can I get some of that closed cell foam like Kato uses in its model boxes? I'd like to replace the foam, and not damage my expensive and lovingly repainted brass model.

    All the best!

don't forget that you have to wrap the model in clear poly first...

I never buy foam. For plastic foam for making scenery, I watch around for building sites that are building with foam. Go ask the Foreman if you can have any small pieces left over. Maybe do a little site cleanup in exchange. For CLOSED CELL foam, I go to a big box store that sells a lot of Electronics and check their dumpster. Amazing what can be had.

    Found something I didn't know.
Was out with several friends over weekend. Somehow the subject of foam came up. One of the Ladies mentioned that she noticed that plastic foam was available in sheets at her local craft store. I don't know if she meant: HOBBY LOBBY or MICHEAL'S.
It might be worth a check at either or both of the places for closed cell plastic foam sheets.
