    Gotta love this season....

My girlfriend and my mother went shopping for me yesterday. They came back from the hobby shop and I heard from both of them that my layout isn't big enough and I need to make it larger. (Gee- Now I have to work on the trains.... Hmmmm... I could get to like this. :D ) My g-friend was also mad at herself for not going ahead and grabbing some neon signs and a couple of structures that she looked at. She forgot to take my list and both of them kinda guessed on what they thought I'd like. But she said they were both walking around the store with their arms totally full of stuff..... I can't wait for Christmas.

I can relate to her on the not knowing what to get for my hobby.... She collects Barbies. So I find myself learning about Barbie value, box condition, etc... Who knew that there was such a Barbie following out there. But I like her having that hobby. If she can justify $100+ on a must have Barbie, I can justify it for a new loco. [IMG]

It's gonna be a good year!

Sounds like this might be the kind of woman to keep around permanently! My wife is very understanding, although I get the usual roll of the eyes every now and then! Especially when I get my twin 2-year-old daughters interested in trains :D

My wife and I decided what we would spend on each other for Christmas. I did shopping and found her several nice things that she was asking for...yes they involve small kitchen appliances and baking items, but it's highlighted and starred on her list.

As for me, she told me that rather than shopping for me, she would just give me cash and I could get what I really wanted. What a woman!!!!!

"honey, I swear the new M-T Evergreen Express is for the kids..."
All set up in the living room on a table with a simple Kato unitrack oval. Gave her the responsibilty of making it "fit in" with the rest of the holiday decorations. Finally, she did admit that it had incredible detail.
And to think that some people buy this stuff to keep sealed.

Last year for Christmas my Fiance' asked for a wish list of train items. I gave her a long list thinking I would get one or two items. She got everything on the list. $500.00-600.00 worth including every loco on the list. Funny thing is.... she wasn't my Fiance' then, but she is NOW!!! Seriously, I felt so greedy, I refused to give her a list this year. I went and got her every piece of bone china she wanted this year.

Guppyman, I think you'd best be following C. Guistra's lead and ask that girl to marry you! When each person has their own hobby/interests, it makes life a lot easier. Heck, you'll never have to agonize over what to get her for birthday's and Christmas! C. Guistra, I'd make sure you get a list from your fiancee. Nothing could be easier than getting everything on her list! I'm a very competitive person, by nature, and that extends to giving. I say, gentleman, don't let your wives/girlfriends outgive you! If they give you everything on your list one year, get everything on their list and more the next. If they give you a 20 minute back rub, give them 30. Trust me, you'll never want for anything!

Working on marrying her.... (just gotta get a divorce over with first). I showed her a rough drawing of how I want to expand my layout and she wasn't sure if it would be enough.... :D

She says all she really wants for Christmas is for me to fix the ice-maker and to fix the passenger window in the car. Both can be done for less than $10.... might get out cheap this year. ;)

No really.... Barbies, diamonds, and maybe even a new dishwasher (I know.... but I think that would be appreciated the most).

I need to measure the room I'm using.... I'll be sharing it with 2 desks and computers... But I can go above the desks. For now, I think just an 'L' along 2 walls, possibly double decked.

Lucky guys. I can't even get my wife to walk into a hobby shop! This year she bought her own Christmas gift for me to give to her. I bought me a drill press! [IMG]

If I were you, I would be showing her an engagement ring and tickets to Vegas! Dump that old baggage as fasr as you can and get with this one. They have a funny way of straying if one doesn't move fast enough. [IMG]

I vote for Marry Her Quick!, my first wife hated my trains, and the net effect was I ended up losing a 20 year N-Scale collection at the end of a 16 year sentence.
A couple years later, I met a lady whose dad was a train guy, and she had all these great memories of trains. Boom! Done Deal! I didn't let this one go, and am now happily married to someone who lets me work on my trains as much as I want.
Now there is a little give and take, like having to rework something on my layout because my wife turned into a "Rivet Counter", but I think I can learn to live with it. [IMG]

Now if I can just get a reply back from BLW that my order for MP Pacific's has actually been canceled, maybe I can still find something under the tree this year.
