I'd have loved to be there. Just to hear that sound echoing around those mountains and valleys would be a wow experience.

I won't go into explaining the ghost headlight my wife and I saw in March of 1999, in the dark of night, as we drove east on I-90, just west of Saltese.

Hahaha! That is so mean.... yet SOOO awesome! :D :D

I was in search of a Nathan K5? for my 93 Wrangler. I was planning to mount it right on the hood and it would have been legendary! (Had I kept the Jeep :()

Wow, wish I could find a photo of the excursion chaser mobile that used to chase all of the trains around here. They had a Jeep with I think 5 sets of air horns on it. Looked like a robot marching band and was extremely loud.

Oh please do Ken, I'm into that kind of thing!

Mark: Shame on you! Bet you regret it now huh? Jess my TJ is NOT happy with you! Just kidding. I want to get some of these horns for Jess for the idiots that pull out in front of me with their Lexus or Escalades. Talk about a brown note! Besides My Wrangler is Maine Central Green, it fits.

Thats HILARIOUS!!!When I first started on the BNSF I was still a volunteer firefighter or my local FD. We had a haunted house every year and one of the other guys did garage doors ( do you see where this is going?) We were going to rig up a light to a garage door mechanism and have a horn blare when people came down a long dark hall lol. Couldnt get a compressor big enough or horns :( But what a blast ( pun intended) that would have been!

Jim Thunderstruck ( my TJ's official nickname now I guess)is in a lovely Milwaukee esque kinda orange with a black soft top ;)If you shoe horn some on yours Ill be happy for a how to guide!

It was a westbound single, four section headlight, snaking smoothly along the MILW r-o-w. It illuminated the trees and r-o-w in front of whatever it was, and not at all like a vehicle. Too high above ground. Too bright. No bouncing or shaking, etc. Just like when the trains were running. The hair on back of my neck, and my wife's as well, stood out straight. We slowed down to a crawl, then stopped and watched as this moved along that hillside, south side of I-90. This went on for well more than five minutes. And we simply could not come up with any way to debunk what we were witnessing. We have tallked about it a few times since then, and end up shrugging our shoulders. We both knew that type of MILW headlight, from long ago. If someone was having fun, it was very nicely done. If not....??? :tb-wacky::tb-wacky::tb-wacky:

Too cool, Ken. It would have been a blast to find an old boxy school bus, and rig up 4-part headlights, paint it orange and black, and drive the old right of way.... That could have been what you saw, some pranksters in a similar vehicle...

No that is some funny stuff; wish I could have been there to see the reaction on the peoples faces that heard those horns coming from a Tunnel that has had a train running there for years
