Some of y'all might be interested in the Huey P. Long bridge, the longest railroad bridge in the world, located near New Orleans, Louisiana. I found some great photos of the "Huey P." on the Crescent City Model Rail Club site. http://lrs.railspot.com/hnwoa.htm. The photos ride a BNSF freight leaving New Orleans and heading west over the bridge, then on into bayou country. By the way, that's Highway US-90 running next to the track, but outside of the bridge structure .... S C A R Y !!!!!

Hank I went over to see that bridge while I was stationed at the Bay St. Louis ammo plant. It is a long one! If I built one to scale on my layout, it would run into the neighbor lady's bedroom. I asked but my wife wouldn't let me do that. She doesn't want me to have to go over and toot my whistle! snicker snicker wheeze choke [IMG]

Johnny, (don't let your wife see it), I'll send you a photo of the red headed neighbor then you will understand what a sweetheart this neighbor is! She seldom closes her window shades. Her window is right beside where I park my car, and occasionally her shade will be up. You can't help but notice how easy it would be to mount a double track main line along her back wall. There is space for a sizable yard, and is even on the same level. One time my camera just accidentlly went off, but she just waved and pulled the shade down.

You are too young to see this sort of stuff, play with your trains. Maybe someday we'll have that father-son talk.

(There are a few things I would like to know!).

Your email will come in a plain brown wrapper?

    ;)

[IMG] I'm sorry Sean, I couldn't remember where this post was to get your address, I'm sending the Sweetie Pie out as soon as I hang up here. She should arrive about time to take your morning shower! Save the brown wrapper, re-cycle you know! Hope you like her as much as Johnny does! :D
