One feature that my small urban area is missing is the community water tower. The main reason is that I haven't figured out a way to build one that looks right. Almost every town has one (or more) of these sitting somewhere. They look sort of like oblong balls sitting on a flared base. Any suggestions? I don't recall seeing an article in any of the model magazines on building one. Right now, I am considering using a styrofoam ball and plastruct tube, covering with clay or plaster. Any ideas or suggestions are welcome. Jeff Augsburg & Concord R.R. (a fictional shortline in Central Illinois) http://www.geocities.com/revnjeff/index.html
Check this link. http://www.plastruct.com/Pages/Action.lasso?-database=PI.PRODUCTS.fp5&-Layout=Complete&-Response=OnlineProductDetail.html&-op=eq&CCode=TANK-50&-Search this link is to a tank you could use but you may ask them if they still carry the entire kit like I purchased. It didn't have such a round tank but more of a traditional pointed top. If I had a picture I would show you. But I know it was from plastruct. Bryan
