Back in 1988 and continuing until 1998 N SCALE of NEVADA produced some 123 detail castings - 5 kinds WACKY LIGHT SETS, 9 SNOW PLOWS, Re-RAILERS, CABOOSE STACKS, 12 kinds of BODY MOUNT COUPLER ADAPTORS, AB Brake Parts - the old and the new style.

At the request of the FEATHER RIVER TRAIN SHOP in San Rafael, CA my son Jeremy - who is newly married and expecting a little helper in October and I are reviewing the entire lineup of parts, revamping some, adding some and going the whole nine yards - new stock numbers updated pricing - in fact I confirmed to Chuck today that NSN will produce an updated and much easier to build PIGGY PACKER for a late September 2007 release.

While seldom mentioned anymore NSN made the very first HUSKY STACK and the first MAXI STACK 3 - back in the early 90's. NSN - me - John Coots has been delivering QUALITY product in the model railroad field since 1968 - that's 41 years folks - not yesterday and by late August when Chuck gets his first parts shipment - you'll be able to get ALL of the details you want and need - let Chuck know what you want and he and Jeremy and I will make sure you can get it.

I promise - if you don't rag me about 2007 prices I wont rag you about the retirement fund that went in to funding what you want - fair.

There's and old joke - which goes - you know how to end up with two million dollars in the model railroad business - start with four million.

MONEY - isn't my light at the end of the tunnel - doing something for dedicated modellers - is.

    Thanks for you time.

John, This is great news! I have always used NSN parts and those Husky Stacks were Great! It's great that these parts will be available, and made by NSN! More of the Autorack upgrade kits should be done also.(Lots of ConCor racks out there!)

John, looking forward to the NEW line of NSN parts. This is some of the best N Scale news and should make modelers very happy! The Piggy packer should make everyone happy, and Chuck showed me the telephone poles when I was out in CA in Feb. They are beautiful!
    Welcome back! :)

    John,
That is great news. I was poking around the NSN-2 website the other day looking for some of the autorack panels. I was thinking of trying to fit some to a MTL open bi-level autorack with the panels. I've used your stuff before in all kinds of projects, but never got the opportunity for a piggy packer due to prices on eBay.

    Thanks for coming back,
    Brian

    Yup,
Chuck got my business again, with fast reply to a request and very good pricing.

Once my layout is running again, and smoothly, I would like to learn detailing some of my running gear. We shall see..

Being an SP modeller, I will miss the SP parts...the GP-9 light clusters, the SD-7/9 trash can lights, the diesel steam generator, SP switcher light cluster, and snow plows. I don't remember all of the parts that NSN had, but I don't believe that they had any of the above. I know that JnJ had some SP light assys, but they were VERY crude compaired to the Sunrise stuff. If anyone knows where I can get some of the above, PLEASE let me know!

The SP specific snowplows were a favorite. It's a shame though...they were really nice people, and always gave me a mil discount, and this is 10 years ago, before it was fashionable.

I built one of the NSN piggy packers around 1990, and it was one of the most beautiful and detailed model kits available in N Scale then. I traded it to Carter F. for some covered hoppers he built, and a couple years ago I started hearing talk of them going for big bucks on ebay. I wish I still had mine now. The main reason I traded it off, was I was afraid I was going to ruin it, because it was a bit too heavy to glue to my N Trak module back then. It's good to hear it will be coming back.

I miss the plows, and MARS lites...
I have a small stash that was bought for current projects a few years ago, and it will barely be enough.

I miss the line dearly!!! Stocked up a bit before the end, but a little is never enough!
I hope somebody makes parts of that caliber available soon.

Bob, it probably was the one at Little Bit Junction.

If I knew that CNJ used that very model, you wouldn't have gotten it. Hmmm, Carter has it? What do I have that he wants?

    Probably nothing, Carter has everything!!

I miss the beacons. Every other BN part can be attained from some other manufacturer. I was luck as I found 7 N301s up in Minnesota last week. I still need about 8 more for the projects I have lined up. I will attempt scratch building them when the need arises.

    PIGGY PACKER

There's an original piggy packer for sale right now on eBay. Nothing on it at all on the NSN web site, and Sept. is long gone.
