Carsten Publications announced they will close as of this afternoon (Aug 22nd). There are on going discussions with other parties about the fate of the company, but it looks like the annuals may not be issued any further. I kinda hope they get published by someone else, like the guys doing CTC Board. Just a heads up.
A few years ago, there was talk about doing an HOn30 Annual. I had hoped that somehow.... Oh well. rats.
Gents, I can assure you that both the On30 and HOn3 Annuals will continue to be published. I am a little short on details that I can share at this point, but I will be giving more details in the coming weeks. Keep an eye on my Facebook page for details as they become available: https://www.facebook.com/NarrowGaugeAnnuals With regard to a "HOn30 Annual" I just don't feel like there is enough activity at this category for its own publication at this point. You may not be aware, but HOn30 material is welcome in the HOn3 Annual, and if the rumors about Bachmann jumping into HOn30 are true, then I would expect to add more. If the MiniTrains and Bachmann expand the category, however, then I would certainly revisit a separate Annual. All the best, Chris Lane Editor On30 & HOn3 Annuals
Chris- I hope you are indeed able to keep the Annuals rolling. With regard to HOn30, I do not know what size press run you need, but there is a hard core group of us on the HOn30 Mail Car. Membership exceeds 1000. But, what I was referencing goes back a few years. This was prior to the Annuals moving to Carstens.
We've just published an On30 interview with Chris Lane over at Raildig.com: http://www.raildig.com/raildig-guest/chris-lane-editor-carstens-on30-hon3-annuals/ A big thanks to Chris for taking part! John Cubbin Raildig.com
