I have one of the big heavy magnifying lights that you plug into an outlet and weighs a ton. This thing is so much nicer as it has 3X the magnification, is extremely light weight, folds up to store, 2 LED light settings, and adjustable angles, although it does not twist. But is amazing for working on locomotives, rolling stock, lighting up an area of the layout, and a million other uses.

Any cool gadgets you use for modeling?

That is really interesting. I do have a 3'x4' drafting board with the pivoting arms. Sorry no pics, it's dismantle and put in storage for now.

Nice folding magnifying lens. Looks like it would nicely fold up to carry in your pocket or easily put in your tool box or caddy to carry with you. Can you tell us the manufacturer or where it might be bought without violating advertising policy? Send me a PM if it would cause problems with policy.

Well it was purchased by my sister for Christmas at one of those, we sell everything websites ( which they are out of ), but found it on a few other, we sell everything websites, which are not train websites so I don't think it will be against advertising policy. I know the original website that is OUT of them she has purchased many, many items over the years. The other's we have not purchased anything. Search for this and you should find it yourself:

Foldable Desk Lamp and Magnifier (Pocket Sized)

It takes 3 AAA batteries. DO NOT get the USB one!

Make sure it looks like the one pictured below.

Mod or Admin, can I post some links to it? I am also gonna look on Amazon and not sure if that is allowed either.

This thing is amazing and the pictures of the one I have been using is below. The actual one I use that technically belongs to another family member. So I am going to buy me one and at least one backup maybe 2. Around $5.00 - $7.00 each or one website buy 2 for $9.98 but you have to pay shipping. I am telling you it's so light weight and easy to use, and crystal clear looking through the magnifying glass :)
