I was thinking of adding a HO scale Sound Decoder to a NScale consist. I mean not in motive Power, but under the layout.

I may be crazy but is this feasible and cost effective.

    Owen:

I've been using Soundtraxx DSX sound decoders under the benchwork for years. It works very well.

All you need is the Soundtraxx DSX sound decoder, a capacitor which comes with the sound decoder and a four inch Radio Shack speaker.

You first program the sound decoder and then wire it to your common bus lines and your Radio Shack speaker.

You then consist the sound decoder to any number of loco's. The sound decoder acts like a loco in the consist responding to any changes in the throttle.

I have a fairly extensive lineup of Soundtraxx DSX sound decoders. I also have two Tsunami sound decoders that I'll wire in the same manner.

Stay cool and run steam.... [IMG]
