High Praise for ATHEARN

    Hello all ! You have probably seen my posts regarding my e-bay purchase of an Athearn N Scale Challenger and the trouble that followed that purchase.
    The seller sold the item to me relatively cheap, $227.00, but when I got it, it was sent in a bag & per the auction the Hand controller was included ,but not shipped with the item, and no original Blue Display box. Well, the seller has still not stepped up and resloved these issues and a case is pending, but the good news is....

    ATHEARN CAME TO THE RESCUE !!!!!!!! :thumbs_up:Hoo-ray !!!!!!:tb-biggrin:

    I called Athearn, and they said no problem, they'd love to help.

    So, for $12.98, they sold me a Hand control, and for $7.00 they sold me
    an original display box. I called them on Monday the 15th, and today the 17th,
    the package from Athearn with the Controller and Display box arrived.
    So, for $24.50 total, I now have the Challenger complete, Display Box, Controller, Instruction manual, the whole shootin' match, couldn't be happier with Athearn great service.

    THANKS ATHEARN ! And pooh on the e-bay seller that lied to me.

    Glad that worked out for you, but I still wouldn't let the seller off the hook. How is his feedback? I would still try and get what he owes you, or refund the amount you paid Athearn to get it the way it was supposed to have been..

    Don't let a crappy seller off the hook, because it will just happen again to another unsuspecting buyer. Make him answer for his missrepresentation. If a seller just made an honest mistake, that is different, but blantent missrepresentation should not go undealt with IMHO.

    Yepper, I am holding their feet to the fire, I have told them that, refund the amount of controller & box, or case gets escalated.

    Kudos to Athearn. They're the only major N scale company I haven't had to return something to for repairs/replacement. ALL the others have been exemplary in their customer service. What a great hobby!

    Was the loco at least packaged safely in the bag? Is every thing there, anything broken. Does it run? And way to go Athearn.

    I can say i have never had a problem with any of the mfgs when it comes to service. Athearn, FVM and Walthers are the ones i have delt with and i have been very happy with all of them.
