Hi all. About 9 months ago I started designing for 3D printing, I have opened a Shapeways shop since I might as well share what I have produced and hopefully recover some of my costs. I model N scale with a particular passion for Soo line, Amtrak and Conrail, but generally will look at anything. My 3D projects so far Amtrak's Horizon coaches, California cars and Surfliners. A good friend had always wished to do a North shore Line layout so the latest project are CNSM interurbans, hopefully followed by an Electroliner and steeplecab. For good measure I have just completed my BQ23-7 project. Alexander
Welcome . I worked for the SOO line after the Milwaukee buyout and then after the SOO sold off their original railroad to WC I spent 14 years at Shops yard in Fond Du Lac Wisconsin. Someday I'll tell you the story of the part I played in putting a SOO GP-30 through the roundhouse wall. Depending on the era you model the SOO, while the SOO was operating passenger trains they sold through tickets to Milwaukee (The SOO didn't go to Milwaukee) . The Milwaukee connection was in Waukesha Wis with the TMER&L , an interurban line that crossed the SOO on Broadway street in Waukesha a half block South of the SOO Waukesha depot. Already your customer. Randy
Just from observation, Shapeways seems to be taking off! It certainly sounds like you have some good product ideas - look forward to seeing them. Welcome aboard!
Hi Alexander, Welcome to the TrainBoard. I look forward to seeing your products. I'm intrigued with new technology, though I doubt I would be one of your sales.
Welcome aboard, Alexander. Hmmm, "3rd boxcar," would that be "midnight train, destination Bangor, Maine?"
