Hi to all, Have chanced on to this site many times and thru some mutual friends and members thought I would join this group to learn and share more and help if I can. I work For BNSF under the ATSF E/W line agreements as a Locomotive Engineer or Conductor via flowback and a host of other boring issues. My Modeling interests have over the last few years migrated towards the Frisco, 1970's to present. I try to model The Frisco like it never was merged. My Grandfather was a Locomotive Engineer for the QA&P RY (Frisco) I do enjoy the BN as well, and try to avoid the heartburn between the BN and SLSF, ATSF, ect all. Also have been fortunate enough to have skinned my knuckles on some D&RGW/SP Locos on property. There was nothing like witnessing 14 SD's dig in and pull 105 loads up a 3.5% grade. It was the greatest RR'ing show on earth at the time, all Head end, Swing and Rear helps were manned. To watch and experience that kind of power and coordination was indeed a great experience. I still have some BNSF locos, and rolling stock, but they are going away, or being repainted at an alarming rate. Perhaps part of my current, and growing disdain for my current employer. Anyway, glad to be here. And look forward to meeting new friends and learning from you all. Regards Tom Holley
Welcome to Trainboard. I remember Grand Junction as one of the hotspots of railfanning a long time ago. Like Boxcab said, you will find Frisco friends here.
14 SD's must have left the earth trembling - you're a lucky man to get to experience that. Welcome to our little group, and there's lots of us around that try to ignore the mergers!
Hi Tom, Welcome to the TrainBoard, glad to have you on board. Having admitted to being a Frisco Freak, beware of Charlie, TB Founder and Chief Cook & Bottle-Washer. Charlie gives new meaning to Frisco Freak...
Hi Tom. I'll add my welcome to Trainboard too. We not only have Frisco fans, but we also have quite a few active and retired loco engineers. Happy to have you aboard.
Greetings from one of the bonafide Frisco freaks (and onetime resident of "Junction")! Glad to see ya made it onto our little home on the cyberrange! Gang, if you get a chance, check out Tom's videos on YouTube- great stuff (well, it should be-it's Frisco and QA&P).
