For those that remember those famous words from the Culligan water softener commercials... Here is a local Santa Fe crew, getting ready to switch out some cars at the local Culligan plant, near San Bernardino, Ca Circa 1983
Well that just happens to be my last name. Trust me the "Hey Culligan Man" gets old really quickly! And I swear every person thinks they are the first ones to say it to you! Thanks Brad
It's funny how many folks love GP 30s. Personally I find them ugly. They are not my favorite. I think they look like they have an ugly bulge on the top of them. I much perfer the GP 60Ms, FP45s, locos with clean smooth lines. I know... beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I just marvel to myself the number of folks who like these.
Chris - Guess you had to be there when 3 or 4 GP-30's roared and thrummed their way across a highway at 60 miles plus per hour. For those of my age, a new sound and shape.
Well, I happen to like GP30s, GP60s and F45s, thank you! I also happen to like C636s, C39-8s, MP/UP/NW/NS C36-7s... in fact, anything humpbacked.
With the look of thos engines, I'm almost inclined to call 'em Dirty 30s. Any pics of the cars switched in & out of the plant???
