Been feeling a bit burned out lately and having a real hard time getting this one going but it is well underway. The photo below doesn't do it justice. I took it at night with no natural light ot help.

BTW...I got my license back, sigend and exectued, from Union Pacific. So, "full steam ahead" on the 12 Heritage unit drawings after I finish this one up. Was over in Illinois this past weekend and got shots of the CNW going through DeKalb so that finishes it up for my reference shots I needed to do all 6. There will be a 3/4 view and side view done for each.

Anyway, here is the Daylight, look for a better shot this weekend after I get all those blasted rivets in on the side of the tender.

As usual, it looks great. I don't know if this will help you with the driver detail or not, hope so.

Thanks for the photo but I just went off the Freedom Train drawing I did. I did all the research on details when doing that one and simply took all of it and applied it to this one. First one took forever but this one went together quickly. Thanks again though.:teeth:

    Jim-

Was this an excursion on old OE track? Looks great. But somehow seems a little different, to see her on a wooden branch line type trestle.

Ken, it's not the OE branch, but the West Side District of Portland and Western. From the Cook wye, it runs through Tualatin, Cipole, Sherwood, Rex, Springbrook and Newberg. This trestle is at the entrance to the city of Sherwood. :teeth:

    Jim-

It's been a few years, since I last did much serious following of that route. Hmmm... Is it still a through route? Anyhow, that's a great setting. And the subject matter isn't bad either!

That link ultimatly connects up with the W&P trackage to the south yes?

I spent much time on the other end of that line between beaverton and Forest Grove (and Banks for that matter)

    Since we're talking W&P/P&W.

I know from hillsborothe railroad branches 3 ways. One heads to Banks and up Cornelius pass to the former NP route to Astoria (some of this trackage has been pulled, some I think is part of the light rail. Then the other 2 parallel each other to Forest Grove where 1 dead ends and per the sat imagery, there doesn't appear to be an industry there.
I know one of these is former NP/BN/BNSF and the other former SP, Further, the one that continues on heads to a lumber mill (whose tracks aren't in google maps, just the former main).
So, is that track that ends in Forest Grove used for anything? I know P&W owns/leases it, but I can't figure out the purpose. The other odd thing, Mapquest has the BNSF tracks (the ones that deadend in Forestgrove) as linking up with the UP (SP) tracks back in Beaverton, but most of that trackage is lightrail now. Does P&W use the lightrail track that much? I know they use sections of it. Or is Google right and it's in Hillsboro where they connect?

A mod can move this if they want, I suppose I shouldn't bogart the discussion of the absolutly wonderful drawing.

This would be old Oregon Electric (SP&S RY) trackage. Which is where I'd errantly been thinking Jim's 4449 photo was taken. Banks was also a station on the old United RYs (SP&S RY) line.

I don't know the history of those tracks like you guys do, as I'm a relative newcomer here. P&W and W&P are one and the same now. I have often wondered about the Seghers district and doubt if there is any traffic on it now. It ran from Hillsboro through Cornelius, Carnation, Seghers to the Stimson-Forrestex, I would guess a lumber mill.

That's the Ex-SP line. It still sees traffic. The Stimson mill is still there and there's some gravel train that regularly run, or did run. That may be on the other line though.
