Can someone please recommend MT couplers to use on Trainworx hoppers and also what to use for weights for stability THANK YOU!!!!
Trainworx recommends Micro-Trains #1035-1 trucks w/couplers. Any Trainworx dealer (Wig-Wag, LLC - for example) can order weights for the hoppers. Note that the weights will be visible if you run the cars without their coal loads.
For weight, I added loads of fine/medium ballast to my hoppers. And if you cant find the color you want, you can always paint it!
HHNS, I've used the 1035's as recommended, following the instructions for removing and mounting the coupler boxes (I love body mounts!) For weight, I'll usually put two to four BB's (I buy the Daisy brand in the pint carton) at each end. They seem to track just fine this way.
