Hi, we're doing a gift exchange at my train club and I need help with some ideas for a few gifts. Any ideas would be appreciated, and I know it's tough since many people like very specific brands/trains/era and what not but since I run only modern stuff I am kinda stuck with not a lot of ideas. On top of all that the club is a college organization so I'd like to keep the cost of each car to less than $20; wouldn't hate giving a built kit since I have a ton of extra detail parts to bring the cars up to spec. Both of the guys run manifests and their trains are full of typical cars like box cars, hoppers, tanks and flat cars, and I'd like to get the something unusual. One guy should be easy enough, his favorite railroad is Santa Fe and only runs things built before 1942. I also found this, looks pretty cool, would this work? The other guy runs a manifest based off fallen flags from the 1940-1950s. He is also from the east coast and runs a lot stuff from both the midwest and railroads from the east.
