I was playing with my kato dash 9 today abd the engine started running funny and then the ground relay tripped.I had the engineer go back and open the engine doors and he told me that my engine threw a piston. Now it just sits there. This is gonna set me back about 500,000 dollars to fix.Anyone know where I can get a good GM motor for my Dash 9.The BNSF is complaining that I have the main blocked.I just love PROTOTYPICAL MODEL RAILROADING. [IMG]
Its just for fun like I always say"If you complain about your hobby all the time,You really need to get a life".

hey clint if ed doesn't mind i have some good proto bachmann lease power you can borrow until you get that dash 9 going again!!!!!! well wait a minute can't do that, the ns needs them to pay some hours back for their lease stuff!!! how about some good trix or model power units? i think i can swing a few your way as long as there is a connecting route somewhere netween the 2 points.

The Saucier & Southern has 2 USRA Heavy Mikes steamed up and ready to roll if you can arrange passage over the intervening foreign rails. Or if you prefer, I can release an F7 A-B-B-A set for a week of so. They would give give your train plenty of spare power.

Just let me know .... [IMG]

I have a pair of BN SD80MACs that I can let you lease till the Dash 9 is operating again. They will pull any train you can couple to it!

If you're really desperate, I have a pair of Docksides and an old Mantua Shifter that might be useful...They won't pull much, but they WILL keep the cars moving, a litle at a time...You might have to shore up yourmain lines a bit, being this is roughly twice as big as you are now.

I would check what the HOn3 people have...that might take care of the powerproblem until the first tunnel.

thats GE for ya!!! Now if you were only using those EMD tunnel motors that have the wrong truck centers, well you'd still be rolling along!!
    (Sorry Alan, I just couldn't resist!!! :D )

    have a great week!!!

It might be cheaper to just hang a '57 full-blown 350 Chevy in and let 'er rip! :D

Well, I haven't got much, but the CMO of the Paris & Mt. Pleasant is offering to let you use the OR&T's RSD4 number 89- still in KCC orange, but since the CMO is an Oklahoma State University alumnus, he couldn't bear to repaint it. Heck, if you're gonna run four-stroker power, might as well be ALCO! :D :D

    Ed,
You had better get that engine running or lease some power soon. If you don't, your customers might start turning to trucks. [IMG] [IMG]

I'd send a crew and engine out to help, but you never signed the trackage rights agreement.

currently there are a couple of SD90, some SD45,around 19 SD40-2 and some Trainmasters on a siding. Not enough to haul so feel free to choose. :)
Maybe I could rip out the motor of a CN C44-9 which is ready for beeing scrapped after a major derailment (actually fell of my layout...ouch)

    have fun
