Check the wiring vs toggle. Remember, most DPDTs, the poles on the back of the switch are opposite the "position". If the toggle is down, the upper two poles connect to the center position, and vice versa for up. If you envision the metal plates inside the switch extending from the toggle, it then makes sense.

So to get this straight if I want to turn it on to the right I would put the power feed to the left connections? Is it the same for just an on off switch too?

Ok now I am lost. I am not getting power to the test track area at all now. Thought maybe the toggle switch was bad so I replaced it. Still nada. Time to pull out the multi meter. Not sure how it works or what setting to put it on. [IMG]

    Kevin,
Does the DCS100 have separate outputs for a programming track? I have the DB150 and it does not.

If the the DCS100 has two sets of outputs, connect 1 pair to the top two connectors on the DPDT and the the other pair to the bottom two connectors and then connect the middle two connectors from the DPDT to you programming track.

And make certain that you have insulators between the programming track and the rest of the layout.

That is the simple explanation. you should make certain that the polarity is aligned when in running mode.

Paul I did that. I now get a red led on the UR92 track status and still no power to run locos. Yes the dcs100 does have a separate outputs for the program track.

A simple "on off" switch is single throw, it either makes a connection or doesn't. So doesn't matter which wire goes where.

To use your meter, put the red probe in the middle hole. Set the dial to point to one of the Ohm ranges. You should then be able to see if your have continuity

    Kevin,
Is your programming track a spur or a siding? If a siding, it needs insulators on both ends.
Is there just one set of feeds to the programming track?
The symptom of the redlight sounds like the UR92 is not connected to the DCS100

    2. Connect the PS14 DC power supply to the UR92 via the DC power jack on
the side of the UR92. Plug the PS14 power supply into a 110V outlet.
The green and red LEDs should blink and the red LED should stay on.
    3. Connect the UR92 to LocoNet “B” jack of your DCS100 using one of the
RJ12 jacks at the rear of the UR92. The red LED will go off and the
GREEN “RADIO” LED will wink at a 2-second interval to indicate that it
    is configured for duplex operation.

Paul all that is working. I actually have the ur92 going into loconet via the db150. The red led is in the track status location which should be orange. My UR91 and UR92 both have a power supply (ps12 and PS14. I then have daisy chained off those UP5 panels. The UR91 will power three of those and the UR92 powers four.

The program track is a spur with two insulated joiners. I hooked the UR92 track statues led up to the program track so that I would know when I have power to it.

So are you actually talking about the track status on the UP5? I do not see how you can connect the UR92 to the programming track to obtain status.

Well now I do see how you would do that from the UR92 ...

Up5 and UR92 and UR91 all have this feature. They Are the screw terminals on the back.

    Kevin,
I like the solution with the 4PDT switch. Let me know how it works out

UPDATE! I have wired in the new switch. I still have two wires to solder, I am just waiting for the drill to charge. I need to drill two holes first to run the wires to the track. So far the red led attached to the down side of the 4PDT switch lights up. I switch it and the led on the UR92 glows orange for track status. So far a success. I will test the power with a loco when I get the last two wires to the dead track soldered. :)

Your going to have to post pictures and diagrams.
    No beeping?

Ok Paul here ya go. No beeping. Here are the diagrams I followed and what I all looks like. When the switch is in the down position the led is off and the UR92 Led lights up. I hooked up The UR92 track status light to help diagnose. You can see that it is faint orange/red. I also posted a pic of a UP5 and that shows how bright it should be. The first night the UR92 was a nice bright orange. I had not yet hooked up the feeders to the dead track. That is when it stopped working. I tried taking them off with no change. When the switch is up the red led attached to the 4PDT switch lights up. I tried programming a decoder on the track and the message comes back NO d. The decoder works on the main under the address 3. The decoder is an MRC sound decoder.

Woohoo problem solved. I was doing a little testing by running a loco over the track area and found I have a loose bus wire that needs resoldering. Everything works as designed.
