http://www.trainscanada.ca/1-168.jpg Any one know what Micro-trains trucks I should use to convert my CP Overton passenger cars. It might be MT#1144 but their site does not have any pictures. I want to run thes behinnd my new Mikado but they still has those lousy rapido couplers. Any help would be appreciated.
Boy now that is a tough one. I looked at the picture you posted and my first thought was those sure look like Archbar trucks. Although those are a freight type truck. I took a look at the N scale supply web site N Scale supply Micro trains trucks and they have photos posted of most of the Micro Trains line of trucks. (I haven't shopped there but it is a handy resource for N scalers.) Perhaps you will see what you need there. BTW:I attended SuperTrain 2002 in Cow town and it was definately super . If you are talking about the Bachman Overton cars I think I did some of those for a guy last summer. I'm pretty sure I used the #1129's These are the medium length couplers. you can use the shorter 1128's if the curves on your layout aren't too tight. IF these are Bachman cars.
http://www.trainscanada.ca/ http://www.trainscanada.ca/passenger.htm I appreciate the replies, but they are not Bachman. I may have to directly write an e-mail to MT and see what they think.
I have both sets of the Roundhouse Overtons which ones do you have 34' or 50'? To save myself the trouble I just went the body-mount route, 1025's right to the vestibules and they've never given me any problems.
Thank's to Gary Lewis, he suggested to do the body mounted couplers. I tried one off them and it worked out great. Just a hair higher than the other of my factory M/T's cars, but that is what I like about M/T, they are very forgiving and work well. I do need to go and get 6 more now, but they look and work just fine.
Excuse the bad joke, but in the days when Overtons were new, wasn't Link/pin the coupler that was around?
