I'm a video game designer of 28 years, so not exactly a trainman. Still, I fell in love with the history of rails after doing over 70 scenarios for Railroad Tycoon 2 and 3 and their expansions. That and standing next to the Bigboy at NTM St. Louis, hard not to be impressed. I'm not a modeler or much of a photographer so I've lurked here for a while to learn things. I'm going to be doing more work on a railroad game and felt it was time to be "real" here. I do like N and Z scale, there is something about the intricate nature of them, like a watch inside a watch.

Welcome to TrainBoard! Perhaps the modeling bug will eventually catch you in it's grip!

Hi FranzF, welcome, glad to have you aboard. Trains are fascinating no matter what size. As you saw, standing next to a Big Boy is very impressive, even overwhelming. On the other hand modeling allows your creativity to run wild to whatever ends you want.

Welcome to Trainboard, FranzF. Not necessary to be a modeler. I am not and have been here since a month after the board was founded. I am a 12 inch to the foot steam fan (snob, maybe) and love to ride behind and chase steam locomotives in operation.
