...from the great state of Texas! My name is Manny and I'm coming over from Frisco.org. A few members in good standing here have talked to me about Trainboard from time to time so I figured I'd come over and see what's up. I model HO Scale turn of the century San Antonio, TX. My railroad's are the San Antonio, Fredericksburg & Northern, and the San Antonio & Aransas Pass. On April 28, 1903, the Frisco announced the purchase of the SA&AP. Only the shiftiness of the SP and their lawyers stopped it right at the certification clerk's desk at the ICC. The Frisco's influence in San Antonio and the surrounding area has long gone forgotten, but was instrumental in the sustaining of railroad presence in Southwest/Southeastern Texas. I model as if the Frisco actually had completed the purchase. I model as if the connection between Brady, TX, and Fredericksburg, TX on the FW&RG actually occurred (right of way graded, but no rails). I have only brass locomotives which I am having painted and DCC'd. I build my own cars from either wood, or resin. Modeling 1900 TX is a challenge, but fun. I hope to share and learn a lot here on Trainboard. Nice to be here. Thanks, Manny
Hi Manny, Welcome Aboard. Sounds like you have an excellent plan, and are well along. We'd love to see photos.
Hey, buddy! Glad to see you here. Your fine modeling will be greatly appreciated here. Show em whatcha got!
Manny, even though your equipment is a little big and old for my tastes, I'll say that I'd love to see some of the freight cars - correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like scrachbuilding? And most assuredly welcome to our little group!
Thanks y'all. Yes, I'm speedily heading down the road of scratch-building. Most right now are kits highly modified, but I've found that a lot of the cars can be built in multiples for the same price as one kit. In a few, I'll post up some pics. I need to pay for my membership as the entry level just won't do. I love pics. More certainly to come. Nice to be here. Let's see where I fit in... Manny
