I am trying to find someone who can do a custom paint jobs on a EMD SD 40-2 HO locomotive.
I'm trying to give a Colorado Pacific RR locomotive as a gift.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you.

    Yes! thank you!!
That's the new paint scheme for my nephew's train.
I'm trying to give him an HO replica as a gift, the problem is I'm trying to find someone who can paint it.
He will probably want 50 or more in a variety of scales if the fist one turns out amazing.
I can probably even get the person flown out to CO and taken for a ride on the line.
Just need to be put in contact with someone who does really good work!!
    Thank you for your reply!!

    Hi Marc,
"a custom paint jobs" on it's own is a bit confusing. I have done some custom work. But your post Sir, is quite, if I may say, confusing. Painting many different scales is one thing.
Do you have decals for the CPRR logo and lettering, There is way more than you might think to be accurate, in all the scales you intend to to be applied? Many times, I have heard one say, "it's simple".
It is not so simple. Finding undecorated or unpainted, models is getting more expensive and difficult to find every day, in any scale.
Reason is, less people want to paint/decal their own models anymore. Don't need a ride to CO. I live in same, dont want a ride on a locomotive, especially at 10~ mph, " I'm a retired Locomotive engineer".
Bottom line, what you want, may cost way more than you think, or are willing to pay, especially for quality work, on accurate models, in scale.
Certainly not trying to bust any bubbles, just trying to get your thoughts on same.

Ahh! Shame I can't paint (n) 'cause, as retired Delta, can fly to CO free - hint hint - just kidding I think. In his younger school years father worked for the Illinois Central Railroad and grandma showed me her "free-pass" decades later. Found more images of Colordo Pacific is that the new Colorado state logo alongside?

IDK color print to make decals to scale?

    Thanks again for your reply.
I knew the logo would be a challenge, and that in several different scales would be as well.
If we narrow it down to HO that would probably help some.
I was hoping that scaled lettering would be available from hobby retailers?

As for the painting job itself. I didn't know it would have to start from an unpainted model.
I'm guessing painting over an "off the shelf" locomotive is an faux pas?

Totally get not getting excited about a 10mph ride, it would be like me getting a ride in a HMMWV.

If you have a price estimate still, please PM me.

Hahaha. It's a train!! I'm sure we can find room!
Especially if you can pull some strings at Delta and get them to quit putting me next to other full figured guys!

Thank you for the pics, for some reason I can only view the logo.
And yes, that is the correct logo.
