    Hello all,

I am returning to the hobby and will be building an N-scale layout. I only have experience with HO as a child and teenager. That was many years ago....70s and early 80s (TYCO Rocked).

This is already turning out to be fun. I am trying to figure the best size to use, since I do not want to take up a lot of room or spend too much right now......maybe later an expansion?

Thanks to everyone in advance for all the information and experience you provide.

    Welcome to TrainBoard!

Starting small and later expanding is seen quite often. Daydreaming about a larger empire is part of the fun. :)

Howdy IN Texas (from Corpus Christi). Glad to have you aboard. I have built 4 specifically-Texas layouts and taken bunches of pitchkurs so I have a little knowledge and a lot of just plain opinion.

Howdy from up here, too. Having spent some time in Texas (Ft Hood and around Tyler) there's a rich history and lots of current ops down your way. And as others have said, many of us start small and expand as we can. Enjoy!
