Hello, everyone. My name is Ron. I have lived most of my life is west-central and southwest Missouri except for a six-year sting in Fort Worth, TX. I grew up along MoPac's Sedalia sub and remain a MoPac fan. I have been a railfan since childhood but only discovered the hobby of model railroading in my 20's. After a few years of collecting HO items but unable to build a layout due to space and moving constraints I decided to dabble in N scale. I'm still dabbling nearly 20 years later and have no intention of going back. I modeled MoPac early, but when the BNSF merger happened I was living in an old Santa Fe railroad town. I fell in love with the mix of early paint schemes. Then in Fort Worth I found an area that simply begged to be modeled, so I've been modeling BNSF for 10 years. I am currently in the process of building my third layout, a double deck 18' x 20' depicting north Texas and Colorado in the early 2000's. As for other interests, I like to play trumpet and sing. I look forward to interacting with many of you on the forums here. Ron
Welcome to TrainBoard! If you have a layout plan or some photos, those would be good fun to view. Jump into our N Scale Forum and start a topic!
Whereabouts? Grew up in suburban St Louis myself (U City) and still claim the state, more or less. Good to have you, and I agree about the mix of schemes just after the merger. Personally always loved seeing the green/cream 70's on the joint line!
Welcome aboard! I've been through El Dorado Springs many, many times. We're glad to have you. Charlie
