Hi all, great to join you guys on model railroading. I'm 24, and new to the hobby. I moved to the US from Vietnam lately. I did some plastic models like gundam before back in Vietnam but never rr, it's hard to find stock and expensive to ship from oversea. Discovered a LHS in Houston and I tried to get myself a train set to play with. At first, just an Kato M2 layout, but now, due to limited space, I only focus on small layout inspired by micro-layouts on carendt.com. Below is my simple layout, which is an Inglenook switching puzzle. Buildings are made from cookie box and printed paper. Everything is temporary now because I still want the option of moving things around, and not spend for scenery stuff before I get the hang of it. Hope to gather some feedback to improve the layout, like which industries should be included to make the scene busy but still small.
Welcome to the hobby and to Trainboard. Your structures are quite creative for little invested but your time.
Hi, Welcome to the TrainBoard, we are glad to have you on board. Your "cookie box" structures show alot of imagination. I look forward what you create as you move forward.
Welcome to Trainboard. It looks as though you have a good start. Remember that this hobby becomes addictive!
Good to have you with us. The mock-ups are a great way to play around with possibilities before committing much in the way of time and money. Best of luck!
