Long time model railroader/railfan, over 30 years. Like many others, I took a break to raise kids, but rejoined the ranks a few years ago. I model the Katy, MP, UP because I grew up not to far from here, with the Katy nearly in my neighborhood. I model HO presently, but have modeled N and On30. Looking forward to getting to know more of you out there.
Hi Kirby, welcome. Happy to have you on board. Understand raising kids, but glad you're back into "The World's Greatest Hobby". I'd give credit if I knew what organization first coined (copyrighted?) the phrase, but it has been my belief for 75+ years.
Welcome, Kirby. I'm not far from you...Fate is about 25 miles from our home. (Lake Highlands/NE Dallas) I'm mostly an armchair modeler (moved to Z-scale from N a few years ago) but I have been active in DFW area ops at times, and belonged to an N club at one point. I grew up with MKT and BN in my backyard....BN won out for my interests but I'm still a closet Katy fan too.
