New to this hobby , I have a three year old grandson that loves trains and thought this would be fun way to teach him a few things. I build stage productions for a living,so now I have to learn to think small. I have seen some great work on this and other sites. Looking forward to trying my hand at it.
Welcome to TrainBoard! Great to know your grandson is interested. Please keep us updated as you progress.
Hi Stagehand, Glad to have you on board. Scenery with model railroading is much like theater scenery, all about creating an image for the viewer. It will be great fun with your grandson, though I'm sure he will care less about scenery and more about "Run Train, Grandpa!!!"
Your grandson will make your efforts well worth the time, and he will probably inspire you to do more and more. Welcome to Trainboard. I think you will like it here.
Welcome Stagehand from another East Tennessee member! That makes at least two of us from this area. I have been working on a (kid friendly?) layout for about 2 years. I have been on this forum for about 6 months. It is a great place to get help! Bob
Welcome aboard, and no matter what direction it ends up going, I'm sure you and your grandson will make some great memories.
Thank you for the warm welcome, I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions as we progress in this adventure.
Welcome aboard Stagehand. It just so happens that I am listening to the Gospel Show on East Tennessee's Own, WDVX right now on the internet stream. It has been one of my favorite radio stations for years, except for weekdays in the morning-afternoon, when they play all that dreary, depressing, identical sounding folksy stuff.
