Hello all, my name is Matt. I'm new to the site as well as the railroad community. I started building HO model trains about 5 years ago with my grandpa but quit due to my location. Recently my grandpa moved into an assisted living center and gave me a large number of his HO collection. I figured I would need a site like this to help me figure out which ones I am keeping and which ones I am selling. I also think it will be a great avenue to learn about the layout I want in my house. Get ready for lots of questions from this kid.

    Welcome to TrainBoard!

Glad to read your grandpa passed his trains to you. Got questions? Ask. Someone will quite likely have your answer(s).

    Hi Matt. Welcome to Trainboard!
I think once you get into model railroading, you'll find out there's no such thing as "too many trains"! :)

Welcome from a little south on 25. I would suggest thinking long before parting with anything - for the sentimental value of the collection if nothing else. And be prepared to get lots of answers!

Thanks guys! So happy to meet some people with knowledge to share. I just listed my first auctions this week, in what section would it be ok to link to my ebay account? I don't want to step on anyone's toes and look like an idiot.

That would be within our TrainStore. There is a place for sharing links to eBaY listings.
