Hi Everyone, I am in the process of building a Garden RR (not much happening during the winter). I have a small HO layout modeling the D&H around Cobleskill and Cherry Valley, NY. I have rekindled my real love of S Gauge. This is what I started out with when I was very young. I have restored my Pacific 4-6-2 loco and other accessories and ran them under the Christmas Tree this year for the first time in 40 years! I am now very interested in collecting early American Flyer stuff. D&H Paul
Welcome to TrainBoard! If you do get started with accumulating AF, maybe we could see some photos? I've managed for years to resist temptations of getting back into the AF, Lionel and Marx of my youth. Which is a difficult task. I did some for a while, (TCA, TTOS), but decided to back away as it was really growing on me!
Welcome aboard Paul. We would love to see your American Flyer trains, check out our S scale section here. I myself have a few AF pieces in my collection, a pair of Texas & Pacific GP-7's and a Santa Fe Pacific. The scale 1/64 S scale is really starting to take off as well. I always thought the locomotives and rolling stock were a nice compromise between the heft and detail O and the size for a modest layout in HO.
