Hello Everyone, Well I guess it's time I joined a train website/group.... A little about myself and my trains - My name is Dave and my 11 y/o son just got a new N Scale train set and are jumping into creating a layout for it. So the back story goes - A few weeks ago my son and I went to a local train show and he wanted an N scale set (Guess he liked the all the little trains). I had to remind him of the MTH O Scale trains we have packed away that are never played with, to which he said he would play with these more (first mistake on my part). So I ended up getting "him" a KATO Amtrack starter set and a KATO M2 track starter set (second mistake on my part) and Grandma brought 3 more cars. Once we got it home it was quickly set up on the dinning table and ran a few time before dinner. We had fun and were both bitten (me a little more then him). So the next day being Monday with work -for me - and school -for him - I set about thinking what grand layouts I could come up with for my "son's" trains. So with the help of this and a number of other sites, I have decided that "his" layout is going to be 4 x 7 using KATO Unitrack running at least two trains and when all is said and done I'll even add DCC to it. I am using AnyRail for the design and layout phase and then begging for help on taking that and turning it into a working layout. Thank you for ALL the help and information you'll provide this neebie to N scale Dave
Welcome aboard Dave. We're glad to have you. Hopefully we'll get to see some pictures of your progress. Charlie
Welcome to TrainBoard! There are N scalers here, aplenty! If you have questions, they'll most certainly be able to help.
Welcome to trainboard. Looking forward to hearing about your progress. Sent from my DROID2 GLOBAL using Tapatalk 2
Hi Dave, Welcome to the TrainBoard. There are many N-Scalers here who would be happy to chat with you and give you help.
Welcome Dave! You sound like you have done a good amount of research already, and we'll all be more than happy to help you along. Welcome!
I'll add my welcome and tell you that you've made a good choice of sites to join - of course, I may be a bit biased? Hope it will be a great experience for the two of you to learn model railroading together!
Welcome, Dave! I guess most of us entered this hobby early on "for our sons"! I recall a slot-car set I bought for my two year old son in 1967! LOL Happy to have you aboard!
Yes , welcome to the addiction... no there is no use fighting it , no way to turn back, and you must bring your son with you !!! :teeth:
