My name is Karl, I was raised and grew up on real trains, Dad always said we weren't brain washed but train washed. use to play with my dads old HO when I was young, then got into Lionel extensively, My Lionel was stolen when I was over sees about $10-15 thousand dollars worth years and years of TTOS auctions. So I gave up on that, I model in 7 1/2 gauge. Still do a lot with prototypes, and would like to get back into a modular club again some day making my HO DCC and also focusing on HOn3 & HOn2 1/2, I love mountain railroading. Shays, Heisler, Climax, and rotary plows.

I am trying to get a feel for this board, Is there a group for narrow gauge in specific?

There is a group for mining and logging here which may be of us. We also have a narrow gauge forum here, and a forum for narrow gauge modelling here. Hopefully some of these will be helpful.

Now "train washed" I like and can relate to! Welcome aboard.

Welcome, Karl. Glad to have you aboard Trainboard. :)

As to your stolen Lionel collection ... my cousin and I had S gauge trains and we ran them together when we were kids. I also had a wonderful, (for the lack of a better word) "erector" set that I've never seen another like it sinse. They all disappeared one day and we thought they were stolen.
Years later, my aunt confessed my uncle had sold them to pay off a gambling debt! Bummer!

Welcome Karl. I wish I could find a photo of your rail car but will substitute this one instead. It is at least kind of close. :)
