Hello, I've been surfing these boards for quite some time and finally figured it was time to join. My main interests are in all things Narrow Gauge, but my main love is in Colorado and the ng lines within the state. I guess you could say I was bit by the narrow gauge bug hard. At this point in time, I'm looking to build my first layout which will most likely be HOn3. As you can probably tell, I'm planning on modeling Narrow Gauge in Colorado, however I would like to do a completely freelanced line that will interchange with the D&RGW. I'm hoping to get some help with the track plans once I can measure my "train room" again. I suppose I can get a new post going on that soon. I'm excited to get started with that. Let's see, a little more about me. I'm currently a college student down here in Arizona. I'm beginning to study Mechanical Engineering with the hopes of using my degree in the railroading industry. I'm hoping that having a layout will be a nice way to relax and spend my time when I have the time Glad to be here, and I look forward to and hope to contribute as much as possible, -Chris
Chris- Welcome to TrainBoard! We have some excellent track planners aboard, so please jump in when ready. Our Layout Design Forum is just waiting....
And just think of the possibilities for using some of that learning for layout purposes - or model RR for classroom purposes? Glad you jumped in!
Hey Chris, Welcome. You'll find lots of enthusiastic support here, as I'm sure you're already aware from lurking.
Howdy, Chris. Welcome to Trainboard. We hope you will keep us informed on your progress with some photos.
Thanks again for the welcomes, again I'm glad to be here. I will definitely be posting in the Layout Design forum soon, can't wait to get a plan going/set in stone. Sorry FLG, I'm at the U of A, but I think the Jacks would be my second choice in AZ
there is a club down there called SASME, met them a few times when i was at FT huachuca over the winter. Good bunch, here is their website: http://www.sasme.org/ i still stand by my GO JACKS
Thanks for the link. I had only heard of the NTrak club in Tucson, so it's nice to hear there is an HO/Hon3 club in Tucson as well. I will definitely have to check them out sometime, and maybe even, if time permits, join. -Chris
