Hello Dear sirs, fans RailRoad N Scale!!!
My name Evgeniy Pustuev. I live in Russia in the city of Moscow. I am great admirer USA of models RailRoad Scale, throughout two years. In this time I have achieved some success in this work. Also I am ready to share with pleasure the achievements and knowledge. In Russia there is no educational base, in this field of activity. And much should be learnt, by practical experiences. Certainly, important role in my development has played, frequent viewing of every possible sites and forums of fans of models Rail Road from USA, including this forum. Thanks your big, for all ! Very pleasantly, to become a member your magnificent community!
At present I am engaged in construction, N scale layoyt, in the room. Layout, has the sizes: 13,5 ft are long, and 4,5 ft width. Also has sticking out part 7, 1/3 ft width.
Epoch since 1950, till now. (As though I wished to get in USA at the time of Elvis Presley, but it is unrealizable dream. If only Robert Zemeckis to us will help.):tb-wink:
Movement on a ring, single-line with two stations. Is available secret revers loop at internal level layout. Supervision over it is carried out night vision camera. It is possible to hide, and also revers, one train long to 12 ft. The base, to the bottom level is designed and partially constructed. There I plan to construct one more station, inside revers loop. Access to the bottom level, will be through helix, and single-line track. But it is all in the future. For now, at present, I have completely finished construction of all track top level. Also has started landscape registration. And this of the robot seems to me much more difficult. I still never in the life, did not deal with art and design work. I will study at you.
I like to experiment and check technics possibilities. One of my first experiences, is start of very long train consisting of 102 cars. 4 little boys EMD SD90/43MAC operate it. I have made this experiment, when internal parts of tunnels have not been built up yet. Now, it is risk to spend hour with pencils in hands, for extraction of cars, from remote territories, in case of wreck. During experiment, the big failures were not, and derailments also. But periodically did not maintain couplers, and the train came off diesel locomotives. But also it was not frequent, I remained is happy with experiment. Total weight of all cars of ~6,5 pounds. Probably, in the future I will try to make better this record.
I do video of the breadboard model. And they some them can be seen on my page YouTube.

Thanks. Yours faithfully to all Evgeniy Pustuev from Russia.

Wow! This video really made me rethink what can be done in a room-size layout! It may not be particularly realistic from a track-plan viewpoint, but then there's the realism of a train a scale mile long! Besides, it is just so cool!! And yes, I stuck with N scale for the long trains, too.

Evgeniy, what is your minimum radius and maximum grade?

    Evgeniy,

No apologies are necessary for your English. I can understand most of what you are talking about. We have some other members from Russia on this board, too.

This is a good place for N scale as well as for information on North American prototypes.

    Welcome aboard,
    Adam

Your backdrop for the video is very clever and the camera is positioned perfectly for it. That curve in the video reminds me of the Big Ten curve in Colorado. Welcome aboard.

    Привет и добро пожаловать!

Эй, это программное обеспечение автопереводчика - забава! :tb-biggrin:

Ваше расположение - почти точно тот же самый размер как мой. Мой - 13 футов длиной и 7 футов. широкий. Я моделирую 1962. Вам выбирали местоположение для вашей железной дороги, или области США?

    Hello Eugeny!
My name is Vadim, I m also from Russia and also from Moscow.
It's too surprising to see another railroad modeller from Russia there, who make N-Scale layout. N-Scale is not so popular in Russia, and there are little people who makes something at N-Scale.
As to me, i have not so big layout and not so big stations for long trains, as Yours.
I m a beginner and making my layout about a half year. Now i made 1 of 4 modules in a draft state and now i m trying to test my electronical approach for dispatcher panel solution (all turnouts and block sections connected to small dispatcher panel with track scheet for authomation and running, using bus architecture)

As to me i use more russian-alike locos and cars, and i m planning to use catenary.
Layout ll have 4 levels, 2 way track, 3 open stations (L=1M) 2 hidden stations, and 2 reverse loops.

You can see this my draft here: [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhPnnM0xedU"]YouTube- Broadcast Yourself.[/nomedia]

By the way what brand of electronic do You plan to use for dispatcher purposes?

    ----------
    Best regards and wishes,
    Vadim.

Hello! Merry Christmas! Thanks big, for friendly and kind reception!
I have read your comments. I will answer on some questions. I in the beginning of building wanted for the project, to take what or real-life site Rail Road the USA. I like district of Pennsylvania and Colorado. But then, having thought and after area calculation under layout, has decided that is beautiful and interesting at me it will not turn out. In Russia, unfortunately, who has the big house, has no desire to build layout. And those who wishes to build layout, has no a lot of area because lives in small apartment. And here I have come to a conclusion, most to think up the scheme, proceeding from the preferences, on movement of trains. For this purpose to correspond to a wide range of time, I have chosen architecture of the USA of the beginning of 20 centuries. Structures, as a rule live longer, than trains. And besides, it very much is pleasant to me. In formation of structures I like to observe a rule of epoch. I use site RailPictures. Net. This best. Many thanks, to great American people!!! I choose date, on a site I look, what locomotives what to them hooked on cars were. Then I choose a place, and I look, those models which at me are, I look what companies where can meet at one station. Not absolutely I can understand, with movement formation in the USA. Not absolutely I understand why, train management, locomotives from the different companies collect. I think that each locomotive in the big train, carries a part of cars belonging to it. Probably, I am mistaken.
Concerning the Russian trains, I will fairly tell. They do not inspire me. Earlier they were pleasant to me, while I for the first time, American loco seen. There are some locomotives Russian which are pleasant, but it is not enough of them. And models in N scale, are not present almost any. Though is, but very bad quality that is better, them was not. Photos of trains of Russia are on some sites.

Management at me on mine layout, this standard DCC. I for the present badly understand difficult control systems DCC. Only at level of physics and electrical engineers. But as I the provident person, I looked ahead. At construction track, I have divided it into sectors. Each way of station is divided and isolated on 3 – 4 sectors. I have made it for the connection, different systems. I about them, still know nothing, but probably necessarily I learn in the future. And then to break and alter, it would not be desirable. Meanwhile everything, is connected in parallel. The hand control, also still is pleasant to me. A track material, I use Peco code 55. Management turnout the electric. All wires are connected, it is necessary to collect a control panel only. Switch turnout buttons, not DCC. When there is time, always improve the layout.
