Anyone know if the Soo (CP)Hastings Patrol (local that works the Cottage Grove auto plant outside St. Paul) still works with a caboose? Also, what engines are normally assigned (number, type, paint scheme)? What caboose number?
That's a tall order TexChris. I don't have an answer for you, but hopefully some of our members from the Twin Cities area will be able to help you out. ------------------ ship SOO!
TexChris, here's a resource that may help you with your research. It won't provide colors, but train movements are listed. Good luck, hope this helps. http://www.cpr.ca/internet/cprportal.asp ------------------ ship SOO!
Thanks, SOOperSOO, for the CP website. I haven't yet found anything specific on my question, but I'm still looking.
TC - I'm awaiting a detailed response to your question re Hastings Patrol. I have two replies so far, and I expect at least one more from a Cottage Grove resident. Appears normal power is one GP38-2 in any of the current schemes used, and a cab of, as yet, an unknown number. More details in the next day or 2. Gary.
Thanks, all for working on my Hastings Patrol question. For a short time in '99, I dispatched for the BNSF and remember that this cab hop came out of Hastings/St.Croix to work Cottage Grove, but memory fails as to engine/caboose numbers, and sitting in front of that CTC board, one obviously cannot see paint schemes or engine makes (and there was no time to do railfanning, as this was a very busy sub. to dispatch).
