I hope this post doesn't run afoul of some policy, here, but I think this could the best place to get some information.

I have purchased some things from Donn Shotley (Donnstrains2go) on eBay in the past and been quite satisfied. I won an item on Dec 7, and received a message from Donn on Dec 15 saying that it had been shipped. It arrived on Dec 19, and I found that it had been mis-packed. The main parts were included for the item that I won, but other parts (that were in the item photographs) were missing and there were parts from something else that did not belong in my package.

I sent Donn a message on eBay, but got no reply. Using his return address, I looked up a phone number for him on the Net, but the number has been disconnected. I started a "request" on eBay, but still got no response from Donn. I escalated it on Jan 2, and eBay simply gave me a "courtesy refund" today. I called eBay and got a person in Manila who simply told me that Donn did not respond to their e-mails, either, and that it is against their policy to contact him any other way. My request to speak to a "manager" in Manila resulted in "terminal hold." So, I am turning here.

Does anybody know if something has happened to Donn? His listings state that he is handicapped, so I am thinking that he may not be in a position to attend to his business at the moment. Donn still has items on eBay, some of which interest me. But, the darn Internet is so automated that recently it even told me that a LHS was "open now" and got me into a car only to find that the shop had been out-of-business for months. Even an advance telephone call to that store had given me the usual message "we are too busy to come to the phone...". Everything was left on autopilot, despite the store being closed. So, I am imagining a set of possibilities for Donn that ranges from his e-mail being messed-up to him lying on the floor somewhere in Desert Hot Springs, CA hoping for a customer irrate enough to break-down his door and find him.

I am holding-off making a negative feedback on eBay, because it seems that something has gone wrong. Does anybody here know what?
