I am going to paint some Greyhound buses using Tru-Color paint, Any ideas as to what blue I should use?
Which kind of bus? I was looking at some photos just now, and there might be different shades of blue. The modern all-blue buses might be a different shade than the blue used with the older stainless steel buses like the Scenicruiser.
Two silver and blue 60's era Scenicruisers. Can you refer me to the pics if you found them on the web? Thank you for the help.
I found a site that has lots of pics. I didn't realize that there were so many variations of blue on their buses. I'd still like to hear what others have used.
What about Tamiya French Blue? I know you wanted Tru-Color, but I am a big fan of the Tamiya paint line, although the colors are not ‘railroad-specific’. I found these photos to try to do a color comparison. There seems to be a lot of variation in the Scenicruisers, whether it be faded paint, restorations, or evolving paint schemes, you might have to pick a specific vehicle and model it. I don’t know enough about them (greyhound) to make that call. The model car photo shows Tamiya French Blue (TS-10), as well as some different shades of blue on the actual buses. I thought the light blue one seemed close to French Blue. It might need darkening a bit, but Tamiya has some other darker blue shades too.
I have a Greyhound color pictorial that shows alot of shades of blue. Depending on the geographical area where your bus runs, the paint probably has some fading in it if it were in a warmer, sunny climate. So I'd just find something close.
