I'm with Hemi! Get that Shinkansen in there! I can't remember is the V11 a single viaduct track? I know it might make your layout look crowded adding the viaduct but I'm partial to Bullet trains. Steve the layout is really looking good!
I'll "toy" with it this weekend. the V11 is dual track. The outside is 19"+. My table is 36 deep. Will probably have to build an extension. That won't happen any time soon.
I never got to the V!!. Maybe later this week. _______________________________________ Here's a video of the Grey and Grandure. It is a pair of Grant Sar's FP45s assembled and painted, (by Hemi), in a fantacy Canadian Pacific scheme. [ame="http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5356708887559680333&hl=en"]MBTA in Window[/ame] Near the end you can hear and catch glimps of MBTA commuter rail FP40s going by.
Great CP action there Steve. I see what you mean by MBTA in the window...around second 41. That would be a railfan's dream apartment while you negotiate a lower rental price because of the "loud trains".
Hello Don, Unfortunately it is only commuter rail and Amtrak Northeast Corridor between Boston and Providence. Still - I"m not complaining.
Morning Grain Train Hauled by a pair of Grant Sar's FP45s: [ame="http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-659965362136911318&hl=en"]Morning Grain Train[/ame] The sun glints off the sides of the silver cars as the 105 heads west. Note: 23 seconds.
Steve, no matter how hard I look I can't see a pair of locos. Otherwise, it looks great. The sun reflecting on the cars is right on for the early morning. Dave.
Nolan CEQ Backdrops Thanks Lowen. With the help of The Trio I have mounted Pete's 2nd backdrop. It came out perfectly this time. The Trio is Annie's 11yo daughter Rachel, 14yo son Michael, (with the hat), and 15yo son They have only been here twice but the enthusiasm and assistance has been wonderful. The next stage will be wiring. Matt and Mike can't wait to get started. Once it is complete then they can start on scenery which I have given them free rein on.
Glad to hear that EVERYONE is having fun great to see the happy faces on the boys and the um....pretty girl (is she smiling or disgusted LOL). All but one of my FIVE daughters has lost all interest in my obession (hobby)
Grey and Grandure III - Scenery Goal: It is my intention to achieve the following by January 1, 2009 To have very sturdy bench work To have the layout ready for expansion To have "perfect" trackwork To have clean tight wiring for two 1/2 train opperation To have the bases for modular scenery that can be swapped out changing eras or even topography from plains to ultra modern city to mountains. The idea for the modular scenery will be to build modules on 1/2 or 1 inch foam that can be dropped into place on the layout. This will include everything from flat foam painted brown with an agrarian / pastoral theme to 3 foot plus tall mountains to 3 foot tall sky scrapers. Feedback - even negative - is welcome. If there is anyone who would like to participate in any area of the GandG they are 100 percent welcome.
To correct you (as well as all the hobby shop descriptions) on the V series unitrack dimensions the curve radius for the v11 & v12 is outside/inside 414/381 mm, that translates to 16.25/15 inch radius. Where they got 19" outside radius I will never know. I have the V11, it is a wonderful set. and total diameter for the curves measures out at about 34" you could use ether set on the G&G3.
[FONT=Trebuchet MS, Georgia, Verdana]great driver miles[/FONT] - You are probably right. I will recheck it. Thanks!
