Hello. I am Mark and I model in TT scale. My layout (under construction) represents 70's era Czechoslovakia, however; I am not opposed to having a few "visitors". This interest in TT scale has me as a moderator of the ttnut forum which eventually lead me to promote the scale by investing in the production of an RTR SW1200 (soon to be available). I was surprised to see that someone had mentioned it on this forum and had to join! -Mark
Welcome to TrainBoard. Yes there is actually some mention of TT here. Although we do not have a specific Forum set up, there are posts archived in our Inspection Pit .
Ah yes. I mentioned the ttnut forum because I found some prototype information I could not find anywhere else. I was comparing N scale freight cars to their prototypes, and hey, I won't turn up my nose at prototype information wherever I can find it.
Hi Mark, Welcome to the TrainBoard, glad to have you on board. My Father was a member of a TT Scale model club sponsored by his company 60-65 years ago, long before N-Scale was even heard of. Happy to see there still is some activity with TT.
Welcome aboard, Mark. Hope you'll be willing to share some pics sometime soon, as Czech prototype is something a lot of us don't see much of.
Thank you for the warm welcome, folks. I have attached some pictures of my Czech models. Yes, they're all TT scale. T435.0. The first really successful diesel locomotive built in Czechoslovakia. 555.0. This locomotive was built during WWII as BR52 in almost every country occupied by the Nazis. Over 6000 of them were constructed and they ended up scattered throughout Europe. E499.0. A Skoda electric locomotive built in the 50's. Also, my first scratch building attempt.
The T435 is interesting - looks a lot like an American Baldwin, but the truck sideframes are quite distinctive. Thanks!
