Hi all, I'm a new member. I'm very interested in 3d modeling/parts printing. I'm currently working on a drawing of our local train station which I will have printed at Shapeways, hopefully. BTW, I've creeped a bit on your site and have been impressed. You have a nice civil group. You must have worked hard with moderating etc, to build that up. I look forward to learning from you all. --Rice County Rail
It's the Northfield Depot. The railroad wants it removed from its property. A group has organized to preserve this building--and that is a very spendy proposition in these lean times. So if you have a some spare dollars burning a hole in your pocket (heh) you can donate here: (actually, I haven't been a member long enough post a link. But you can google "northfielddepot.org" and find it.) The Faribault Depot remains in its original location and was very nicely reworked as a bar and grill named (surprise) "The Depot". A number of commercial buildings were built adjacent to the depot which mimic the style of the original depot. It's a nice area.
Glad to have you along. I've always been fascinated with some of the stories about preservation groups, and definately a tip of the hat to yours for keeping the spirit going!
