I have been quietly collecting bits and pieces for my future mdoel railroad over the last 15 years, and I am just starting in on putting it together, as for the first time we have moved into a home of our own! I am building a civil-war era branch road in n-scale, with DCC+ and some other home-brew innovations.
Welcome aboard! We have had some discussions in the past about modelling your chosen era, and it will be interesting to see your inputs and results.
Thanks. I have a Bachman old timer, and a (much nicer) Atlas 4-4-0. I also have a few old building kits, and some pretty little "overton" 36' rolling stock. I plan to go DCC+ (and I have subscribed to Greg's thread about his amazing Arduino DCC+ setup).
Hi Dimonic, Welcome. Happy to have you on board. I'm interested to see where and how you plan to install the DCC+ receivers. I know nothing about DCC or DCC+, but from what I've seen on the market, I can't imagine fitting a PC board into a mid-19th century wood-burner or its tender.
There are successful installs using the TCS z2 decoder (which is for z-scale). Here is a link to one: and here with a CT Electronik DCX76 DCC
