Hello alltogether, just wanted to introduce myself here shortly before jumping into the discussions. My name is Thomas, coming to you from Germany and interested in model railroads since I was 10 (long time ago). I was swept here tinkering with DCC++ using Arduino, but this is a very recent activity - up to now I was running my trains purely the analogous way. Coming here I learned something about historical American train composition during signing up - in Germany the caboose was also often placed directly behind the engine. But reading about the activities of the signalman on the caboose, I understand why it's been necessary that the caboose is last in the train. Looking forward to joining interesting discussions - keep up the good work! Thomas.
Welcome aboard Thomas. The Caboose is quite interesting topic I agree. In my Model world both the Caboose is still at the end of a train and Southern Pacific still live. I'm just getting into DCC myself but Adruino not yet. Too deep for my knowledge base. But keep us posted as too how your exploration goes
Hello Thomas, welcome, glad to have you on board. Do you have any photos of layout or equipment that you would like to share?
Hello, Thomas! Welcome to TrainBoard. We are pleased to have you with us as we learn from your experiences while using DCC++ using Arduino. I know absolutely nothing about DCC so I may learn from members like yourself.
Welcome to TrainBoard! We have quite a knowledgeable group working with DCC applications. I'm sure you will get any and all answers desired, from them.
Welcome aboard! We do seem to be picking up quite a few folk through interest in DCC++, so you should have plenty of company.
Thomas: Welcome to TrainBoard! You may have already found it, but at the top of every TrainBoard page is a menu bar that includes a "Search Forums" button. If you click it, you get a search page for filling in your search parameters. I just now searched for Keyword: "arduino", Time Frame: after August 2013, and I did NOT click the box that says titles only (so I could include threads that may have only mentioned arduinos in posts but not the thread title). When I clicked the "Search" button at the bottom of the page, I got a number of posts talking about DCC++ and Arduinos in the DCC & Electronics forum and also in the DCC++ Subforum, which is accessed at the top of the DCC & Electronics forum home page. Just as you started this new thread in the "New Member Introductions" forum, if you look through posts returned by any search using "arduino" (and other related keywords) and don't find anything addressing your specific concerns, you may start a new thread of your own in the DCC++ subforum by going to the subforum home page and clicking the "Start a New Thread" button in the upper right hand corner.
Oops...It looks like you are already settling in: I just saw that you had posted in Greg's DCC++ thread last week. Nice to have you on-board.
