Hi, my name is Frank and i´m living in a small town in Germany near Düsseldorf. I decided to tear off my old german style layout due to several problems developing over the years. The attic wasn´t the best place to build a model railway. After persuading my wife, our garage will be the new place. I´m very interested in US railroads, so i decides that it will be a US themed layout. Freelance but with prototypical inspiration. Please excuse my englisch, its a little bit rusty. I´m not used to speak and write in english very often.
Welcome to TrainBoard Frank! What scale are you considering and do you have a specific RR or area you are thinking of doing for the layout?
The Erie & Lackawanna is interessting as a inspiration. I´m building in N-scale with Kato Unitrack. The trackplan is inspiered by Wrightsville Port https://artsandculture.google.com/story/NwXxa3UhVwh9LQ and the Willow Creek Subdivision https://sites.google.com/site/willowcreekrr/home . Here the beginning with the harbor scene
Welcome aboard, Frank! I spent 5 years in your wonderful country, 2010-2015, but I didn't get up north too much, working near Kaiserslautern. My family and I loved our time in Deutschland. You say you want to model American railroads, do you have a particular place or time era in mind?
Hi jennywhite, welcome. Happy to have you aboard. Are you also a modeler? If so, what gauge, what country(ies), and what eras modeled? Photos are always welcomed, regardless of artistic ability, state of completion, or self-inflicted embarrassment. We all started sometime, some more than 75 years ago (me), and love to see what you young(er) modelers have created with newly developed products....Good Grief, How Did They Do That?
