Hi there In response to those who wanted a materials list for my elevator project it's as follows: 1 1/2 sheets of 3/8 marine plywood - good one side. Weldbond glue. 1/2 inch brads. Cedar gussets and other supporting parts for the inside. Balsa wood for window frames and other large details. Two coats of very good exterior paint, booth sides (one before assembly - one after) and two coats of Flecto Diamond Varathane for wood (satin finish) The plans were drawn in N Scale but the dementions were in prototype feet and inches. I converted all 1:1 measurements to 1/24 and then reduced by 10% for a close LS29. This is a view from the path to the railway. Dave, Is it meant to stay outside permanently? or do you have to bring it inside when you have some hard Canadian weather??? Paul ------------------ Paul Van Herwegen Rappannahock Terminal Railway
No hard Canadian winter around here. Gets down to about -5C for a day or two in Feb but most of the time it's around +2C to +7C during the day. Only about a foot of snow and it dosen't last long. The problem is the rain all winter and the heat all summer. I'd like to bring it in but it's too big for the inside train room. It'll find a home on the deck and I can do maintenance on it if necessary. ------------------ Dave Winter Owner/Operator Winter Valley Regional Railway
