I have kitbashed 4 of these, 3 were Athearn bashes (sold) and 1 was from a Railpower shell (still have). Both ways can create an extremely nice model. I would post some pics here if I had any idea how Any tips? I do know how to use an image hosting site and also how use a disk, I just can't find any photo related stuff here. Hey posting is easy enough! All ya need to do is have the pic some where on the web already. Then, to post it here, type the following:
I guess until I figure out what I'm doing wrong , you'll have to see my pics of BNSF 113 on Trainorders (Media Library, still photo collection, search keyword; GP60M, select BNSF 113 HO GP60M). Sorry! Russ [This message has been edited by tehachapifan (edited 18 December 2000).]

Ahh, the problem is, you need to log on to trainorders in order for the image to show here. Post it on a free site or send a copy to Alan or Stickymonk. You did a great job with it tho! Beautiful loco! [This message has been edited by moose (edited 18 December 2000).]
You did a great job with it! Beautiful loco! They will be my next project - ABBA consist! What kind of frames and trucks did you use? Railfan <a href="http://www.mypage.bluewin.ch/Railfan/">Railfan`s Homepage [This message has been edited by rail_fan (edited 18 December 2000).]
Thanks for getting the photo! Still not entirely clear on how you did it...oh well Anyway, BNSF 113 is an Athearn kitbash using the wide cab kit from Train Station Products, I think (been into N scale too long now!). I like to upgrade the appearance of those cabs with a scratchbuilt dashboard, complete with some papers and booklets, to add realism. Depending on skill level and amount of details wanted, this can actually be a fairly easy kitbash, especially with a GP60 kit to start with (used to have to be an Athearn GP50). The painting and applying decals is probably the trickiest part, however. Russ [This message has been edited by tehachapifan (edited 18 December 2000).]

StickyMonk, I e-mailed the photo to you, hope it comes accross Railfan, I used the stock Athearn frame but converted the truck sideframes to Train Station Products ones correct for this model (Blomberg "M" phase 2). I'm not entirely sure they're still offered, I can't find them in my 1999 HO catalog They do show a anti-hunting damper which would probably be adequate (goes on engineer's side only). To do an A-B-B-A set, I would consider the Railpower shell route. They offer both versions. Although both Athearn or RPP as starting points can make nice models, I would not mix-match Athearn "M"s with RPP "B"s. Thet are different in detail work and would appear odd together. And a "B" unit from an Athearn shell is a much larger kitbash. Also, I was mistaken for the suppier of the wide cab kits. It's from Detail Associates.
