Tony, that's sweet, man!! If anyone else hasn't said so yet, welcome to Trainboard!! :D :D I like your layout, too! I'm also a point-to-point fan. I may be moving soon and I may just use some of those ideas for my new layout [IMG]

Thanks, I would show you some more shots as those are kind of old but the layout is now packed. The whole thing packs into 4 "crates" 2 that are 2 x 6 and one that is 2 x 4 and the staging which are L-shaped.

Hey Lenny, is that a current picture - are they still running around? I spoke with a BNSF guy here in Denver and he told me they still run a few Geep7's, but, and this is a literal quote, "Man, those things are tired!"

Snapped the pic on Thursday. Both CP and CN are running chopnose geeps, however they all been thru serious rebuild programs.

Sierra Railroad chopped the nose on their GP9 #46 after it had had a bad derailment.

    Gary's tutorial is excellent.

Athabasca Scale Models did a photo etched brass cab that could be used for a project like this. Since John sold the company I am not sure if they still offer it, but I have one sitting on my bench so I know they existed.

It might be worth an inquiry

Thanks, Dan. Was that kit a Topeka cab, or the rounded roof cabs of the other chop conversions?
