Have fun figuring out what kind of railroad would have an early EMD Switcher and a bunch of Spine cars together.
Hint? I found one of the oldest working EMD switchers (75 years)down in Texas City, interesting story BTW, but could not connect to this shop. It was near oil facility -explains tankers, and near a port which explains intermodal, but I couldn't locate the shop pictured.... I am sure I am missing it. Any help?
My guess says either a Port city, or maybe some sort of rail car rebuilder and/or scrapper. Question is - Where? I'd look a bit more, but I'm going to bed instead! Slightly enlarged photo, or some sort of hint maybe??
Sorry for leaving you guys hanging D: I've been busy at Work >< Anyways, this railroad has the an almost same name as another railroad located on the otherside of the state. They also own a large fleet of freight cars including Intermodal and Gondolas. Also we are South of Atlanta and East of New Orleans.
well, you did get the city correct, but as far as I know that is not the RR name I was looking for. D:
I've also seen reference to: Georgia and Florida Railway Georgia and Florida Railroad Nashville, Georgia and Florida Railway Georgia Florida RailNet Hopefully, one of these is right! Line has gone through many changes, names etc..since being built in 1906. Name I gave, was according to the GDOT map I used to help me.
http://railga.com/stmawest.html Looks like we have dual winners again. One has location, the other company name.
yes, it's the St Mary's Railway West in Waresboro,GA I thought saying they owned Intermodal equipment would have helped. lol So Carsten and Keith get it. Who wants to go next?
Working on an idea or two. Got a see if I'll have access to my other computer! In process of a major carpet cleaning and rearrange! Needs to be done anyway, but also gives me the needed the needed HCD space!
