Wow. That is nice and tidy! Appears to be a fairly recent years structure.
CLUE: This railroad is east of the Mississippi......Literally!
I followed the Mississippi from the Gulf of Mexico to Canada and could not find it along the shores
I've been doing the same, for any company which might be near to the eastern bank. So far, nothing.
It's South of the Twin Cities but North of the Quad Cities.
Also it's one of the last railroads to operate a certain type of locomotive.
Got it [h=1]42°12'16.5"N 90°17'12.2"W[/h]
It's the engine house at Savannah Army Depot, right next to the Mississippi.
What is the engine? Maybe an ALCo or a Baldwin?
I was just digging around in searches, and found information stating that operation was supposedly closed down fifteen years ago. If so, I am wondering what we are seeing?
Dang! How did I miss that
Probably the same way I have in the past. Just didn't scroll in the right direction quite far enough. Or?
Remember the advice of ancient scholars..."If at first you DO succeed, try to Hide your Astonishment".
Carsten got the location correct.
It's been renovated to an Industrial park, with its own railroad. I still need the name of said railroad.
It's called the Riverport Railroad
Aha! This explains the newer appearance, which I had earlier mentioned.
I guess we have Co-winners here.
Yup. The winners list is once again updated.
