Okay folks, this one is going to be a little different and we'll see what you're made of.

I would think this would be hard but you've already surprised me so let's see what happens here.

Since we started the contests, I've been getting submissions from people saying "do this one" so this will be the first one like that.

This one comes from a TrainBoard staff member, whom I will identify at the end of the contest.

Good luck with this one! :eek:mg:

Looks like the USA, small town with lots of agriculture. Is that a cement plant? Major thoroughfares are 45 degrees off North/South axis.
Think I'll start in South Bend.

I'm thinking somewhere in Botswana :eek:mg:

Ok, seriously, does the track running at a 45' tell us anything? The main double tracks go SW to NE... but there's a 90' crossing the goes SE to NW...

Good Job. Dang, I was coming up the CSX that way from Augusta, Georgia, Orangeburg, SC and had made it all the way to Florence, SC before I left to go out to eat with the Wife. I started out in Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa and nothing ever looked even close. Not enough trees. Opelika, Alabama had the right feel so was starting to look east of the Piedmont.

I looked at the colors. From 20+ miles resolution on my computer there are a lot of color differences. Then I looked at highway direction. I was looking at Denver area for a while, hoping it would appear...

Good job Dave. Like Russell, the wife yanked me to go out to dinner just when I was getting close. I was certain it was NC because it was flat and I because the interstate was running NE to SW, which I figured was I-85. Congrats.

I really like this game. I wish I could get this motivated to work in the layout room...

hey, don't say it out loud...;)

    For future reference...
I wonder if the large "RR crossing" warning on the road south the tracks is a distinctly American convention. If we see that in future contests, do we know we're in the USA?
